«My project aims to explore the inter­sec­tions of diffe­rent musical tradi­ti­onsand create a harmo­nious fusion that cele­brates cultural diver­sity. Drawing inspi­ra­tion from my Tuni­sian roots and the global influ­ences I have encoun­tered, I seek to create compo­si­tions that blend elements of jazz, world music, and elec­tronic sounds, tran­scen­ding boun­da­ries and crea­tinga unique musical expe­ri­ence. Using my skills as a guita­rist and composer, I will embark on a crea­ti­ve­journey to weave together diverse musical styles, instru­men­ta­tion, and rhythms.»

Amine Dhouibi

Der Gitar­rist und Kompo­nist Dhouibi stammt aus der Hafen­stadt Sousse in Tune­sien, wo er seine Ausbil­dung am «Higher Insti­tute of Music» 2015 abschloss.  Er arbei­tete für den «Jazz Club de Tunis» (JCT) und nahm an verschie­denen Work­shops mit inter­na­ti­o­nalen Künst­le­rinnen und Künst­lern teil. Es folgten Live-Auftritte in Tune­sien, Deut­sch­land und Belgien. Sein Album «Resur­rec­tion» wurde 2021 mit dem südafri­ka­ni­schen Mzantsi Jazz Award für das beste Newcomer-Album ausge­zeichnet.

Der Resi­den­z­auf­ent­halt wird vom Südkul­tur­fonds unter­stützt.
